MPLS also know as Multiprotocol Label Switching is now becoming a popular alternative for business that directs and carries data from one network to the next. MPLS is highly scalable and more secure than a vpn network.
MPLS has replaced frame relay as the option of choice. MPLS supports a range of bandwidth, including T1, frame relay, ATM and DSL. MPLS VPN is able to utilize Mpls to create VPN’s and the like. So in essence MPLS has replaced both frame and vpn as the option of choice.
Besides security mpls also offers the advantage of reliability and cost effectiveness. You can save on cost with this type of network or solution. Mpls service can effectively handle and prioritize your web traffic such as voip, T1 lines etc.
